Mentoring Africa's next generation of scientists and bio-industry leaders!
This is our goal! To Reach, Teach and Mentor thousands to millions of students, educators and researchers in universities across sub-Saharan Africa. Yes! It's a big goal, but we are hopeful that we'll achieve it through our dedication and partner's support.
Molecular Biology Training
We specialise in providing world-class scientific teaching and training (both theory and hands-on lab practical) in core scientific concepts, laboratory techniques and their various applications n agricultural and biomedical research. The Workshops will be held in African universities and will be taught by research experts from the University of Cambridge and other universities around the world. Our goal is to equip Africa-based research scientists and academics with knowledge and skills they need to improve their research, as well as to teach others.
Labware Building Workshops
The Open Labware Construction Workshop aims to inspire researchers, academics and students in Africa universities to become more proactive in finding solutions to some of the problems faced in their institutions, especially the lack of laboratory equipment and instruments required to conduct high-quality research. The Workshop will focus on teaching African scientists how to use simple, affordable and open access resources to build basic laboratory equipment such as microscopes, which can be useful for teaching at their academic institutions.
Online Learning Platform
Our e-Learning Platform is designed to facilitate the continuing professional development of African agricultural researchers and postgraduate students, especially those who have attended our Training Workshops. The platform will enable them to have access to lectures given by research experts, reading resources and open source teaching materials to help strengthen their research and teaching.
Interested in teaching science in universities in Africa?
Join our mailing list to receive notification of our teaching workshops taking place in different African countries every year. Our first Molecular Biology Training Workshop takes place at the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin Republic, West Africa in 2019.
Interested in supporting 'Reach & Teach in Africa Project'?
Are you interested or passionate to see African researchers develop and lead world-class research that addresses some of the pressing challenges faced on the continent, you can support us. How? By donating teaching materials (e.g. used text books in molecular biology, molecular genetics, etc.), laboratory instruments and equipment (e.g. pipettes, thermal cyclers, consumables, etc.) and anything else you feel would support the cause. You can also sign up to teach science, e.g. molecular biology, plant physiology, research design and methodology, statistics and data analysis, bioinformatics, etc.
To donate lab equipment, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
